Peloponnese waste PPP project receives environmental approval

The Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate change approved the environmental terms of the waste treatment PPP project in the Peloponnese Prefecture.

The specific PPP project of the Prefecture of Peloponnese assumes the responsibility of the Design, Construction and Operation of three waste treatment units and two transfer stations.

The PPP project constitutes an investment of more than €130 mil for the next two years. Moreover an additional €30 mil – originated from public funding- will be invested in the closure/restoration of over 80 uncontrolled landfills in the region.
The signing of the partnership contract between the prefecture of Peloponnese and the private contractor is expected by August 2014.
