Municipality of Corfu announces waste management PPP

The Municipality of Corfu announced competitive dialogue for the design, financing, construction, maintenance and operation of waste management facilities in Corfu through a PPP. The unit will process about 87,000 tonnes of waste for 27 years. 

The present value of availability payments is estimated at 50-58 million euros plus VAT (assuming 40-60% EU/state contribution). Participants are encouraged to explore possible financing via the JESSICA EU structural fund for urban development, following the agreement between EIB and the Greek government.

Deadline for submission is May 6th, 2014.

The main selection criterion of the contractor will be the lowest offer, whilst maintaining all environmental objectives. The project will be co-financed 40-60% by the European Union’s structural funds.
